I love this picture I took on Papanasam Beach in Varkala, Kerala – India
5 days I stayed in Varkala and almost every day I went to this part of the beach to see all the people that gardered here to perform holy puja: holy rituals. On the photo you see a family that brings the ashes of a diseased familymember to the ocean. It is a very impressive ritual to see. The family is serieus and a bit nervous but you see that they are happy and are doing what they believe need to be done to do good for their beloved familymember.
I took this picture while the family is walking to the ocean to offer the ashes into the ocean. It is my favorite of all the pictures I took….and there are a lot to be taken there 🙂
